Hi there,

I just wanted to share with you my first "score". Bear in mind I live in Belgium and it is virtually impossible to score here since BMX was not as popular as in the US BITD. So I am kind of proud...

Here are the pics (sorry crappy ones but I didn't have much time):

Pretty cool, huh?

Cheers,

Laurent

Is that a National Pro on the left? That GT looks brand new. Nice one.

OK here is the story.

I called a few bmx shops asking for eighties parts and the answer was always the same: nothing left.

But at one of them: the answer was: "maybe".

I said: "maybe?" (trying not to look too excited (IMG:http://oldschoolbmx.com/community/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) )

The guy replied: "Maybe. Call us back, the guy who could help you is not here at the moment" and he hung up.

I called back five times and never was able to talk to the right guy and get some info. (IMG:http://oldschoolbmx.com/community/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Then one day, the guy said: "OK, call us back in 2 months".

I said: "So you do have some small parts left?".

He replied: "No, not only small parts but also frames, wheels,... but we need a lot of time to find them in our huge inventory"

I jumped to the roof!

I could not wait 2 months so after 1 month I called them back. The guy was kind of angry because they had not found everything yet. I was able to arrange a meeting 3 weeks later to get my stuff though.

Then last Tuesday, I had a business meeting very near this shop and then I visited them. I had to wait for the guy to arrive for 2 hours and a half and then he showed me a box with all this stuff and said "shoot me an offer". I made an offer (very low (IMG:http://oldschoolbmx.com/community/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ) , we discussed and finally had a deal...

I was so excited that when I got out of the shop, I was exhausted...

That's a fantastic score--good on you! Is the National Pro a long? Is the bottom bracket 24TPI?

That is definitely a National Pro long. As for the 24TPI, I think so but I am not 100% sure. I'll post more pics later.
